Ultimately Deep (1999)

I really can’t put to words how important this set ended up being to me. It’s kept me company over many long trips through the years. I’m so glad I recorded it when I did; it truly shows how inspired house made me in the 90s. My one regret is I never made a track listing, and the vinyl is packed away in boxes now. Long live Ultimately Deep. It lived up to its title. :)

  1. What’s that fantastic deep track playing around min. 10.00 ??????? PLeaseeeeeeeeeeeeee let me know, i can’t find it anywhere.
    Thanks in advance!

  2. Will there ever come the day, when the tracklist to this lovely mix will be finaly released….? That would be something exceptional…

  3. I think the tracklist should never be published. I started a few years ago collecting vinyl by buying big collection of pubs/bars that switched to digital DJ gear. To this day i keep running into records i never heard before in my collection.
That made me go online and lookup labels on Discogs and searching Youtube for those rare house gems from back in the day. My suggestion is if you love the art of DJ’s and mixing, look it up yourself. Since not everything has been digitalized yet, go dig deeper starting from Discogs. I just love doing that and seeing those songs back in mixing track lists. It just proves how hard it is for DJ’s to keep track of records and artists and i just admire them for the work they put into it to get fantastic mixtapes together.

  4. Interesting take, Robert. I’m inclined to agree with you, and it touches on why my career as a whole has slowed down a lot lately. Big blog entry in the works about all that coming soon.

  5. This is absolutely a classic at its own. These tracks are still all over everything. I could not say how many times i´ve heard it – and everytime i hear it my heart feels like love :-)
I killed about 4 tapes only by hearing it – it accompany my youth – and now i#ve re discovered it and its still spending soul and love. If you ever make a Tracklist of that i will pay you all the money i have (i have not much ;-) )
    ABSOLUTLY GREAT

  6. This is an absolute classic! It hugely influenced me when I was playing only techno a few years ago.Top track is on the 25th minute. Always wished to get the tracklist but I agree that perhaps it is better it never has been published. Cheers Dylan!

  7. I can’t believe this mix is 16 years old. I remembered hearing it for the first time way back when. You’re one of the original DJs I started listening to in the good days of house music.

  8. Hello, I run a YouTube channel dedicated to old skool mixtapes, and would love to post some of your older mixes on my channel. Do you by chance have any of these on tape still, or in mp3 format? Take a look at my channel and let me know. Just do a Google search for “Mixtape Magic”. Tons of classic mixtapes are posted over there! Thanks.

    -Adam.
